What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a proactive, science and research based approach to supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself through nourishing foods. There is much research to show that disease is a product of nutritional deficiencies, increased lifestyle stress and an overburden of toxins in the body. Nutritional Therapy focuses on healing key foundations in the body by giving it the nutritional tools it needs to heal itself as it has the innate ability and intelligence to do.

Both modern lifestyle and diet can lead to severe nutritional deficiencies. When left unaddressed, these deficiencies can become increasingly severe where the body is unable to keep itself properly balanced and replenished, this over time can lead to poor health, symptoms and disease.

A growing profession, Nutritional Therapists’ focus on supporting the whole body instead of focusing on symptoms. Unlike western medicine, which focuses only on symptoms and isolated systems, an Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) focuses on support for healing the whole body and not isolated parts.

Nutritional Therapists do not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Instead, we support the body’s natural ability to heal itself through nourishing foods and nutrient supplementation when necessary. We do not take the place of a primary care practitioner, but can work as partner along side a primary care practitioner to pin point nutritional deficiencies and aid in supplying the body those nutrients so that it may heal itself.

Who Can Benefit from Nutritional Therapy?

Everyone can benefit from Nutritional Therapy. The functions of the body are best maintained when kept in check. Eating a proper, nutrient dense diet is important for babies, children and adults. Understanding how your body functions is important for overall health. Understanding what your body needs will strengthen the level of health that you already have. Although Nutritional Therapy is helpful for specific health concerns it is always important to maintain a level of knowledge in what it takes for your body to properly function.

What is Your Health Philosophy?

Each and every person has very unique nutritional needs to function optimally.  Although there are guidelines I follow in order to get to the root of health issues, no two people are alike in their needs.

I believe in getting back to our roots when it comes to eating properly. I believe that traditional and hunter gatherer based diets that are void of processed foods and contain nutrient density to give the body the tools it needs for healing.  Some individuals thrive better with a grain-free/dairy free diet (or Paleo) and others are very healthy with a diet where nuts and grains are properly prepared.  It is important to note that though I very much respect those with a vegetarian diet who want to better their health, I believe that diets are that help the body function optimally have meat from proper sources within the diet.

I also believe that the body is vastly complex and only God truly knows what the body needs for healing.  I draw fully from the knowledge that I have learned in my training in order to help support the body to heal, but only God and the body truly know what it the body needs for optimal health.  I encourage my clients to reduce stress by prayer and meditation while seeking help for healing.  As a healer, I also believe it is my role to ask God for wisdom when helping an individual to heal.  This mindset helps us to understand that we are not completely in control, but there is one who is.  And, we have denatured many tools that God has given us over the years that allow the body to function properly. It is time to take back the blessings that we have been given by God and listen to our body for what it truly needs.

I teach individuals to listen to their body.

I supply individuals with important and relevant information in order to make changes that will impact their health and life for the better.

I have a large and growing tool box of well researched information to aid each individual in the healing that their body may need.
