FAQs: What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?

WIANTP

What is an NTP?

I have been certified through the Nutritional Therapy Association as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP).  I have completed an very intensive training which qualifies me to use nourishing foods in order to identify nutrient deficiencies and support the body’s innate ability to heal itself.  Nutritional Therapy is a holistic, proactive and research based approach that allows the body the tools that it needs for optimal healing.

I believe in a nutrient-dense diet void of processed foods.  I believe that food has the ability to hurt or heal.  I believe that going back to our traditions and roots can help us to find foods that truly heal instead of hurt.

Generations of the Standard American Diet, lifestyle stress, and environmental toxins are making us very sick.  When we allow these problems to go unaddressed we find that the body is unable to keep itself properly balanced and replenished.     Overtime the body will break down.  This break down leads to disease, symptoms and poor health.

Who can benefit from Nutritional Therapy?

Anyone can benefit from Nutritional Therapy.  I have met very few that have come from generations of a plentiful nourished diet.  In our fast paced culture we often are over burdened with stress and a diet full of fast and processed foods.  I have worked with everyone from adults to children with health difficulties.  I am passionate about helping individuals to understand the signals their body is sending them in order to get help for healing.

What if I desire to get Pregnant Can Nutritional Therapy Help with a Healthy Baby?

If you are desiring to get pregnant Nutritional Therapy is one of the best things you can do for your health and the health of your baby.  A healthy, nutrient dense diet is something our culture is missing when we think in terms of conceiving a baby.   Although, most of us are Pottenger’s cats and are products of generations of eating foods that have no benefit to us we are completely able to take back our health and the health of our children.  As a parent, Nutritional Therapy is one of the most valuable things to do for your baby.  Traditional cultures prepared far in advance to prepare their body for healthy conception.  I believe that it is time that we take back this tradition in order to better the future of our children!

Do You Replace My Doctor?

I do not take the place of your regular physician.  And, I do not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease.  I also do not take people off medication.  However, if I am working with someone they are often able to get off a medication if they also work closely with their physician while their body begins to heal.

Are You A Registered Dietician?

I am not a registered dietician, nor am I licensed by the state in which I reside.  I do not provide advice as though I were an RD.   I provide health and wellness information and work along side qualified health professionals in order for clients to be able to have the best health possible.

Please note: I am unable to give detailed, individual advice to anyone who is not my client.
